2025 Music Matters Benefit Concert Lineup
Featuring 3 talented San Diego artists!
Sandollar
With their debut album charting strong at number 7 on the iTunes Reggae Charts, Sandollar is so diverse that it falls in a genre of its own – beach rock. Influenced by a variety of sounds and genres, their sound features reggae tones, splashes of southern rock, and encapsulates the all-around feel of So Cal living. The band was born from daily jam sessions in a high school woodshop class and evolved in 2006 into a 5-member band that tours all over.
Their music has appeared on CBS-TV’s “Magnum PI” and Netflix’s “Outer Banks”. Notably, Sandollar won Best World Music Album at the 2023 San Diego Music Awards for their album “Under the Water,” and their song “Warrior” was nominated for Song of the Year. Inspired by a variety of elements, Sandollar’s unique sound is guaranteed to chill you out, lift you up, and make you dance!
Kela Sako
Kela Sako is a passionate and dynamic musician, lyricist, and vocalist whose work blends intricate, personal storytelling with a deep sense of vulnerability and spirituality. Signed by Pacific Records in 2022, Kela debuted into the music world releasing four singles with the label while continuing to build loyal following. Her new album
“Speed Bumps” debuted at #4 on the Apple iTunes Reggae Music Album charts, featuring Sandollar on the title track.
A native of Hilo, Hawai’i with roots that run deep in the traditions of jazz, hip-hop, and R&B, Kela’s sound is influenced by legends like Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole, Amy Winehouse, Sade, and Erykah Badu. She began singing and writing music at the age of 9, drawing from both her personal experiences and a global perspective. Her music is a reflection of her inner world—each lyric, each note, a testament to the raw emotions and spirituality that shape her art.
Kela has performed at some of the most iconic venues in Southern California, including Doll Hut, Winstons OB, Music Box, and The Belly Up. She has also graced the stage at the Pechanga Arena singing the national anthem and performing at the Stella Artois Lounge. She has opened for Hawaiian music legend Henry Kapono and performed alongside Kaleo Philips with her Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award (Hawaiian Grammy®)-nominated band, Slack Key ‘Ohana.
Her music is not just a career, but a way of life. “Every song I write, I live by,” she says. From her Hawaiian heritage to her California journey—spanning San Francisco, Sacramento, Santa Barbara, Long Beach, and now San Diego, Kela remains focused on reaching for the top. Above all, she believes in the power of persistence. “No matter what, you have to keep going for it and go for it all the way.”
Hannah Geller
As a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, Hannah Geller’s music is virtually untouched by any hands other than her own. Her genre bending music blends elements of psychedelic, progressive, blues, surf, and alternative rock that can only be heard to be believed. Hannah’s live band brings her compositions to life, delivering an ethereal and one-of-a-kind performance to her audience.
